Programming Language to avoid:
Finding the right programming language to learn as a total beginner could be a tough job. As a beginner, we must avoid some programming languages, which can be hard to learn for someone who hasn’t been in the coding industry ever. Today we’ll be talking about some programming languages beginners should avoid. These languages are great and very effective for a programmer’s career. But as a total beginner, these programming languages could be hard to learn and master. Some of the languages are back dated and are not in use like other languages. Beginners should start their coding journey with an easy and convenient language. We have a list of 5 programming languages we should avoid in 2024.
5. C
C is known as the mother of modern programming language. Languages like Javascript, Java, C++, python are based on C. Even though this is the base of many modern languages, it has low level capabilities and it is outdated now. It doesn’t offer modern features like polymorphism, encapsulation and inheritance. Coders prefer C++ and JavaScript more than C. And this language doesn’t hold any career value at this time. Tech employers look for a modern programming language rather than its mother language.
4. SQL
SQL is not a general-purpose programming language. It is only used for developing databases. We can create, manage and modify our databases through SQL. As a beginner, we would not need to develop databases. Developing databases is a task after creating a website, app and OS. So, learning SQL is not necessary from the beginning of our coding journey. But we may learn this after learning a general-purpose programming language.
3. php
php is losing popularity day by day. Coders are shifting from php to other alternatives. Although php has been a very popular programming language among coders. But its market is crashing rapidly since node.js and python entered the market. Node.js and python are better alternatives of php now. Still php is being used by a large number of coders to make websites. CMS like WordPress uses php to develop their websites. Since WordPress manages millions of websites, we can say that php is still being used by a large population. Facebook also uses php for its backend development. But that is a better version of php developed by Facebook itself. No modern company would develop its websites backend using php. They would rather use python or node.js. So, it is better to learn node.js or python rather than learning php.
2. C++
C++ is a very efficient programming language in the coding industry. It offers many deep level features that can be useful for a coder. But C++ is quite tough to learn as a beginner. It has unnecessary complexity which might not be a good thing for fresh coders. C++ could be a great choice for competitive programming and game development. As Beginners would not go for programming competitions or game development field after the first 6 months of learning programming. They can learn C++ after mastering an easier language.
1. JavaScript
JavaScript is a great choice for experienced coders. Most of the beginners try to learn JavaScript for front-end development. But learning only the basic JavaScript would not help them to achieve their goals as they have to learn the additional libraries of JavaScript for front-end development. Modern websites and apps are not built with HTML, CSS and JavaScript only. Coders use additional programming language to make their websites and apps. It would be a very long-term process for a beginner to learn JavaScript and its additional technologies. This is why beginners should choose a programming language which can be learned in a short time. And then they may start learning long term programming languages.
